Returns and Exchanges
Faulty Returns
If the products you have purchased from us are faulty, wrongly described or different from a sample shown, then we will meet our legal obligations in the country in which the products were purchased. We provide one year manufacturer warranty for all our outdoor commercial grade fairy lights and six months warranty for all other products.
Standard Return Policy
- You have 30 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it with the proof of purchase.
- Please ensure that the item you are returning is in original package with all inserts and accessories were included when you received it.
- Shipping and delivery fees are non-refundable.
Returns Process (In-Store)
- Take your item(s) to our warehouse or return by courier prior to send us an email to [email protected]
- Provide the staff at the warehouse of your unwanted item with the proof of purchase.
- Once the returns policy has been met, we’ll offer an exchange or refund on the spot.
Returns Process (Online)
If your purchase was made online, you may choose to return to our warehouse by courier. Please contact us on 022-0543211 or by email [email protected]
- Address your return to 259 James Fletcher Drive, Otahuhu, Auckland 2024.
- Make sure your order number, name, email and phone number are included with your return.
- Once received, we’ll process the refund and notify you via email. Your refund will be credited back to you in the next 1-5 days, depending on the payment method used to place your order.
- If the item returned does not meet our Returns and Exchange Policy above, your order will be sent back to you.
Exchanges
Exchanges for the same item in a different colour will not incur any additional charges. If the new item is a different product and there is a price difference you may need to pay the difference or receive a partial refund.
Refunds
If you request a refund, the purchase price (excluding delivery charges for online orders) will be refunded to your credit card or your bank account.
Warranty
We offer one year manufacturer warranty for all out door commercial grade fairy lights. 6 months warranty for all indoor and solar fairy lights.
In lieu of any warranty, condition, or liability by law, the seller’s liability in respect of any defect in or failure of the goods supplied, or for any loss, injury, or damage attributable thereto, is limited to making good the replacement or repair of defects arising under normal proper use and maintenance arising solely from faulty design, materials, or workmanship within the warranty period, if stated, or otherwise within 6 months (3 months for Solar Lights) of the date of supply, provided always that such defective parts are promptly returned to the seller, unless otherwise arranged.
At the termination of the appropriate period all liability on the seller’s part ceases.
The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, accident, negligent, inappropriate or improper operation, maintenance, installation, modification or adjustment.
Liability and Maintenance Warranty Terms:
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the seller disclaims all warranties, representations, and guarantees (whether, express, implied, or statutory), with respect to any product or any information supplied to the buyer by the seller including, but not limited to, warranties of availability, accuracy, non-infringement, completeness, timeliness, currency, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the sellers liability to the buyer (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any loss, damage, or injury arising from any defect in, or non-compliance of, a product supplied to the buyer by the seller shall be limited to the price paid by the buyer for that product.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the seller will not be liable (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any loss of profits, or any indirect, incidental, consequential, or economic loss or damage (howsoever caused), which you may directly or indirectly suffer in connection with the buyers access to, use of, or reliance upon, any product or any information supplied to the buyer by the seller.
LIMITATIONS OF COVERAGE – This warranty Does Not Cover:
- Any Product purchased outside Party Lights Company NZ.
- Damage, fault or failure due to alteration or repairs made by anyone other than us, or the use of supplies and accessories other than those manufactured by us.
- Damage, fault or failure due to causes beyond our control including, but not limited to, repairs necessary due to operator negligence, improper installation, damage caused by spillage of foods/liquids, wrong usage of electrical supply and voltage, abnormal voltage, excessive heat, dust, corrosive surroundings, chemical reaction, failure to maintain the Product, failure to operate or use the product according to instructions, accident, mishandling, misuse, tampering, vandalism, theft, fire, lightning, flood, wind, freezing, power failure, static, normal wear and tear, pests, vermin, foreign matter entering the Product, inadequate or excess power supply, unusual atmospheric conditions, or acts of war or acts of God.
- Damage, fault or failure resulting from electrical wiring and connections, user facilitated minor adjustments and settings, external antenna or local reception problems, structural problems of your premises, inaccessible products or parts, negligence, misuse, tampering or abuse, whether wilful or not.
- Damage, fault or failure due to improper transportation, inappropriate storage conditions or materials, improper ventilation, reconfiguration of the Product, movement of the product.
- Damage, fault or failure due to or arising out of, transit or delivery, packing, unpacking, assembly, installation, routine maintenance, dismantle, relocation or removal.
- Cosmetic defects, reduced or impaired functionality, reduced lifespan or limitations of Products which, in our records indicate, are second hand, “Used”, “Refurbished”or “Display Sets”.
- Any utilisation of product that is inconsistent with either the design of the Product or the way the manufacturer intended the product to be used. Any installation and/or modifications that prevents normal service. Any and all cases in which a reasonable manufacturer of such a product would not honour the warranty of the product.
- Normal wear and tear and cosmetic damage such as, but not limited to corrosion, scratches, dents, rust, stains. Non-functional parts such as, but not limited to, plastics and finishes. Expendable or lost items, such as, but not limited to cables.
- Damages, fault, failure, imperfections, caused by abuse, tampering, illegal use, negligence, prolonged use or operation.
- Products that are leased, rented, used exceeding normal limits, used continuously and/or subject to abuse, unreasonable, abnormal or extreme operations.
We reserve the rights to charge You for any reasonable and applicable costs and expenses (at prevailing rates) relating to or arising out of the repair or replacement under these excluded circumstances.
Terms & Conditions of Sale
The name that will appear on your statement will be Party Lights Company.
By purchasing products from Partylights.co.nz, (legal name is Party Lights Company Ltd) (“Party Lights”, “we”, “us”, “our”) or using this website, the purchaser (the “Customer”, “you”, “your”), agrees to the following terms and conditions of sale (the “Terms”). Consumer Protection and other legislation: Where the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or any mandatory legislation in your jurisdiction that cannot legally be excluded applies, these terms will be read subject to the application of that legislation, and in the case of any conflict, the provisions of that legislation will apply.
Business Customers: To the extent permitted by law, business customers agree that where products are purchased for the purpose of a business that the Consumer Guarantees Act or equivalent consumer protection legislation does not apply.
Refunds: Party Lights will comply with its obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act or any other applicable consumer protection legislation that cannot be excluded. Subject to any such applicable laws, refunds or replacement products or services will be given at the discretion of company management.
Addressing: If a product is found to be mis-addressed by Party Lights then Party Lights shall be responsible for the re-delivery, replacement or refunding of the product. If the Customer is found to have given an incorrect or insufficient address, then Party Lights will not refund or resend the product and all responsibility for correcting delivery will be borne by the Customer.
Incorrect Bank Account Number: Party Lights gives the customer the choice to pay for products through bank transfer. If the Customer credits money to the incorrect bank account number, and the correct number was provided to the Customer by Party Lights, then Party Lights will not accept any responsibility for correcting payment and goods will not be dispatched by Party Lights until Party Lights has received payment in full.
Prices, Payment and Title: Party Lights’ available payment methods will be presented at the time of purchase. Party Lights retains title in the products purchased until Party Lights receives payment in full.
Pricing errors: Although we do our best to ensure prices stated on this website are accurate, errors do occur from time to time. Where a pricing error occurs (subject to applicable law that cannot be excluded), we will not be bound by the incorrect pricing stated, and reserve the right to cancel your purchase.
Security: Party Lights uses reasonable endeavours to ensure this website, and any transactions conducted on it, are secure. However you acknowledge that the security of information and payments transmitted via the Internet can never be entirely secure or error free. Party Lights will not be liable for any damages suffered due to failure, delay, interception or manipulation of electronic communications by third parties on any computer programmes (e.g. those used for transmission of viruses).
Special Offers: Special deals and offers on this site are only valid for so long as they are displayed, unless expressly stated otherwise.
Mailing Cash: Party Lights does not recommend that cash be mailed for payment of products. If the Customer does mail cash, Party Lights accepts no responsibility for the theft, loss or otherwise for non-delivery of the mailed cash.
Cancelling Orders: Party Lights reserves the right to cancel orders for any reason or to cancel the purchase agreement after order confirmation, including (without limitation) where Party Lights believes the order to be fraudulent or constitute a mis-use of a promotional or marketing activity or where an error has occurred including but not limited to errors relating to pricing. If we do cancel your order or purchase agreement, we accept no liability for any resulting damages or costs suffered by you, however we will refund the purchase price to you (where it has already been paid).
GST: For New Zealand delivery addresses, all prices are New Zealand GST inclusive unless otherwise stated. If your order ships to a delivery address outside New Zealand, no New Zealand GST will be charged.
Customs & Duties: For any orders shipped outside of New Zealand the customer is the importer of record and will be responsible for all customs import duties and sales tax charges. These charges vary in each country and are outside of Party Lights control. Contact your local customs office for more information on what import duties or sales taxes may be imposed.
Site Access: Party Lights hereby grants you permission to access, view and download the content appearing on this site, for your personal, non-commercial use only. You agree not to use any device, method or software to interfere with the proper functioning of this site. Without the express written permission of Party Lights, you may not use any device, method or software including, but not limited to: spiders, robots, avatars, agents, data mining, gathering or extraction tools and attempts to probe, scan or test or breach security and authentication measures.

Stock Availability: In order to provide the greatest range of products, you understand that Party Lights does not stock all products listed on this site in a single warehouse. All items sold via the Party Lights website are subject to availability and Party Lights reserves the right not to accept or cancel any order for products that are out of stock. Product availability information is provided by a number of third party suppliers. Party Lights works with these third-parties to ensure this information is as accurate as possible however some errors and omissions are expected. Goods delivered may differ to the product images presented on this site.
Gift Voucher Expiry: Gift vouchers are valid for one year from the time they are issued, after which the voucher expires. Any credit remaining after the expiry of the gift voucher is non-refundable.
Delivery Estimates: Party Lights makes every effort practical to ensure that delivery timeframes given are accurate. However the delivery times stated for products on this site assume that the stock availability information provided by our suppliers is accurate and that delivery times are not adversely affected by unforeseen events. By placing an order, you agree not to hold Party Lights liable for any loss or damage directly or indirectly arising out of or in connection with any delay or failure to deliver within the estimated time frame.
Communications: By creating an account with Party Lights you consent to receiving electronic communications from Party Lights.
